We are asking REC Chairs and State Committeemen and Committeewomen to please present the Resolution to their own Republican Executive Committee for a vote to have the U.S. Capitol Police removed from the State of Florida by Governor Ron DeSantis.
The Capitol Police have stated their intention to open permanent field offices in multiple states under the guise of protecting Congressional Representatives. Their fiscal year 2023 budget had surged to $734 million
to facilitate this unprecedented power grab. For fiscal year 2024, the
Capitol Police have asked Congressional Appropriations Committee
to increase their budget to a staggering $840 million.
HISTORY
On July 6, 2021, a U.S. Capitol Police press release announced it was adding field offices in Tampa and San Francisco to investigate threats against members of Congress.
Since then, some Republicans have criticized the move as federal overreach or a partisan power play to target Jan. 6 Capitol protesters.
Tampa and San Francisco were chosen as the first field offices, a USCP spokesperson told us, because those two states are “where we’re getting a big bulk of the threats.”

In response to Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz’ (far left) comments criticizing the USCP’s field office plan, Florida state Rep. Anthony Sabatini (middle left) tweeted that Gaetz “is exactly right” and vowed that next month, he will file legislation “to stop the Capitol Police from creeping into Florida.”
Earlier in July, the Hillsborough County Republican Party — which includes Tampa — tweeted (and then deleted) a letter from party Chairman and retired U.S. Air Force Col. Jim Waurishuk (far right) to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis calling on the governor to “put an end to the establishment of the Capital Police field office in Tampa.”
“We cannot allow this federal agency to operate in this State, circumventing the authority of our Sheriffs and our State Constitution,” Waurishuk wrote. “We cannot accept the establishment of a federal office that will claim a superior power to the State within our State.”
Like all Government employees, Mike Cartwright, fellow patriot and former 20+ year veteran, Deputy Sheriff, Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Tampa FL, has sworn an oath to defend the U.S. Constitution and the Florida Constitution, and that oath did not come with an expiration date.
We are working to end the presence of a federal operational office of the U.S. Capitol Police at the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (2224 N. Falkenburg Rd., Tampa, Florida), part of an alarming plan by the presently corrupted DOJ, the Biden administration, and the USCP to expand both their number of police personnel and their jurisdiction across our nation.
